  Susan Butler, President - I have lived in Clayton County all of my life.  I attended Clayton County schools and recently graduated Suma Cum Laude from Point University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Relations and Counseling.  My husband, Mark, and I have four adult children and ten grandchildren.  I have been a board member of Lake Spivey Community, Inc. for eight years.  I previously served as Treasurer before being elected President.  I also serve as the Lake Administrator for Lake Spivey Civic Association.  Additionally, I am the Constituent Aide for Clayton County Commissioner Michael Edmondson.  We love attending UGA football games and spending time with family and friends on Lake Spivey.  I am an original member of the Spivey Girls and play golf with them as often as possible.  I truly love where I live and I am passionate about helping to maintain and improve Lake Spivey Community. 
  Dr. Don McMillian Jr, Vice President - Don McMillian, Jr. DVM, a life-long resident of the local area and a founding member of the Lake Spivey Community, Inc.  I am a veterinarian and owner of Jonesboro Animal Hospital which was founded by my father in 1962.  I have always had a concern for both the animals and community members that I see daily.  I currently serve as chairman of Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation and as a member of the SRMC Operating Board.  I also chair the Clayton County Board of Zoning Appeals.  My wife of twenty-eight years, Kim, a Sr. Director at Chick-fil-A, Inc. and I have teenagers, Clay and Sarah.  I love the lake life that Spivey offers and have cherished the great relationships our community has provided.  See you on the lake Boat Boys.
 

Marie Buckman, Secretary/Treasurer - Is from Athens and an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. I'm retired from the international transportation industry but currently work part time as a Pharmacy Technician and volunteer for several organizations in the county. I serve on the HOA board at Lake Spivey Country Club where we live as well as the LSCI board. My husband, Jim Buckman, and other community leaders, founded Lake Spivey Community, Inc. in 2005.   While his travel schedule does not allow him to be actively involved at this time, I am endeavouring to help carry on the vision he and others started.

Robert Payne, IT - As a lifelong resident of the Lake Spivey Community, Robert is well vested in the Clayton and Henry County areas. After graduating from Jonesboro High School with Dual Distinction, Robert attended Middle Tennessee State University with a focus on Mass Media/Recording Industry with a Minor in Political Science. During his time in Nashville, Robert started his career with an internship at Columbia Records. Upon his return to the Atlanta area he worked in Technical Production ranging from Artist recording/management to live production work. Robert then accepted a position with a Technical MSP as Director of Services where he managed the day to day functions for both the Charlotte and Atlanta locations. After years of success in the technical industry, Robert followed his dreams of working in Real Estate and joined the wonderful team at Keller Williams Realty as a REALTOR specializing in Clayton, Henry, Fayette, & Spalding counties. Robert saw a need to fill in the local real estate market for someone with a passion for people, homes, and community. Robert is thrilled to show off his hometown community of Lake Spivey, GA to his clients looking for the charm and convenience that it has to offer. Robert is married to his amazingly supportive, beautiful wife, Lauren. You can find Robert in the community DJ’ing at local restaurants, weddings, or private events as well as exploring all of the fine culinary delights that Metro Atlanta has to offer.  As always, GO DAWGS!!

 



Eric Robison, At Large Board Member - 
Karen Powers, Communications Director - A California native, Karen Powers relocated to Lake Spivey, GA in 2002 for love.  "Michael and I were trying to decide where we would settle down, and I fell in love with the peaceful tree lined streets and water views. Living in Lake Spivey is like living every day on vacation.  It's the best kept secret in Metro Atlanta."Karen brings to the board 20+ years small business and non-profit management, human resources and marketing experience.  She holds a BA from University of California, Santa Barbara.Karen and her husband Michael Edmondson, live on Emerald Drive with their three children, Maya, Austin and Annabel. 
Arnold R. Goodson, Board Member - Was born and raised in Harlem, New York.  After completing a distinguished military career of over 29 years, he continued to provide his knowledge, skills, and leadership in private, corporate and federal agencies which included serving as the Deputy Chief of Security at GA Tech for the 1996 Olympic Games, Deputy Post Commander (civilian position) at Fort Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania, Business Manager for an Atlanta Corporation, Project Manager for the U.S. Army Infantry Center and School at Fort Benning Georgia, and as the Base Realignment and Closure Program Manager for the closing of Fort Gillem Georgia.  He is currently a member of the Board of Directors/COO for the How Big Is Your Dream?! Foundation which promotes, educates, and develops our youth to excel in music. He is President of his Homeowners Association, and serves as a volunteer advocate for disabled veterans.  Arnold and his lovely wife Mary, who is also retired from the U.S. Army and the United States Postal Service, reside in the Sweetbriar at Lake Jodeco community. Arnold is continually active in church, community affairs, and civic organizations, and was honored in 1999 by the Secretary of State as an “Outstanding Georgia Citizen”.    
Sherry Hamilton, Board Member - Currently a resident of Lake Spivey and married to Joe Hamilton, we are owners/operators of Lake Spivey Golf Club where I enjoy playing golf and socializing with friends (including The Spivey Girls).  We have three grown children and two grandchildren. Growing up in Stockbridge and being educated in Henry County public schools through high school was a pleasure in simpler times.  College amounted to Clayton State (AA) and Georgia State (BS, MS, EDS) while teaching in Clayton County public schools for ten years.  As a resident of Clayton County for 47 years, I have served on the boards of Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation and Auxiliary, Clayton State College, LSCI, Clayton County Library and LSCC HOA and been involved in many charitable organizations through the years. The Lake Spivey Community is a special place to work, socialize and play. We are very fortunate to have devoted volunteers in this area who are willing and able to spend their time and resources to help improve the image and value of our chosen neighborhoods.  It is an honor to be asked to join in these efforts.
Nicky Ford, Board Member - I am an Atlanta Grady baby, even though I've spent the majority of my adult life in Los Angeles.  In 2007 I relocated to my hometown and the only area I was looking for a home, was in Lake Spivey.
I reside in Spivey Glen with my Girlfriend of 9 years Ellen Fister (who is an attorney) where I am also the President of the Home Owners Association.   My being a part of the Lake Spivey Community Board has really put me more in touch with the community and has inspired me to help make this area the best we can be.  I have a piano tuning and repair business ( A1 Piano Tuning) and you can usually still catch me performing around town in one of two bands (Powerline, The Western Sizzlers).
