Henry County continues to see population growth and additional investment in the retail, commercial, and industrial sectors. The growth of metro Atlanta overall, coupled with expansions at Hartsfield Jackson and the Port of Savannah, will continue to drive more business to Henry County. We have close to 3.5 million square feet of spec industrial space under development, and multiple developers are looking to build high end retail, lifestyle center, and mixed use developments along I-75 in Henry County. We are also working with several of our existing industries who are planning expansions.

Our population is projected to double over the next 25 years, making us the fastest growing county in the core, 10-county metro region. Our labor draw area is over 850,000 people, offering a well-trained and well-educated workforce for all types of potential employers. The One Henry initiative is working on how to position the county in the best way to handle impending growth and to attract the right kind of companies to our community. At the Development Authority, our goal is simple: help grow jobs and investment in Henry County.

It’s important to realize that businesses don’t care about political boundaries – so when a project locates in unincorporated Henry, one of our four cities, or in a neighboring county, it means job opportunities for Henry County residents. The Development Authority will continue to work hard for all the citizens of Henry to bring more job opportunities and to expand our tax base through the attraction of new business to our community. We believe we are poised for a great year of activity in 2016.
