Georgia Governor, Nathan Deal, recently appointed  three of our fellow community leaders to state level boards.

Georgia's entertainment industry is on the rise and Gov. Nathan Deal has appointed a panel of experts to help the state's film, music and digital entertainment office stay ahead of the curve.  One of the newest members of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office's new advisory board is Georgia State Representative R. Brian Strickland, who represents District 111 and is a partner at Smith, Welch, Webb & White LLC in McDonough, GA.


Gov. Nathan Deal has named Judge Steven Teske to the Juvenile Justice State Advisory Group. Judge Teske is the chief judge of the Clayton County Juvenile Court. Prior to this position, he was a partner at Boswell & Teske LLP. He has been appointed to serve on the Department of Juvenile Justice Judicial Advisory Council, Governor’s Children & Youth Coordinating Council, Governor’s Office for Children and Families, Family Violence Commission and the Criminal Justice Reform Commission. Teske sits on the board of directors of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. He is a past president of the Georgia Council of Juvenile Court Judges. Teske earned a master’s degree in Political Science and a law degree from Georgia State University.


Gov. Nathan Deal has named Lisa Kinchen to the Juvenile Justice State Advisory Group. Kinchen is the publisher and editor of Southern Journal Magazine. She serves on the Governor’s Office of Children and Families Advisory Board and the Piedmont-Henry Foundation Board. Kinchen was previously a board member for Speedway Children's Charities, Leadership Henry, Youth Leadership Henry and Prevent Child Abuse. Kinchen is actively involved in Henry County in multiple facets. She attended Troy State University and Auburn University.


The GA Dept. of Transportation and Henry County are currently developing plans to replace the existing bridge over Rum Creek, just east of Lake Spivey. Below are the proposed details of the new bridge construction plan as well as proposed alternate routes. At this time all resident may vote on the project plan and route alternate that will be utilized. Please feel free to make your voice heard and vote on how this project will proceed.
