What do you have when you mix a great night under the stars, amazing food from Carrabba's, music from Hudson Road Band, dancing,  tons of raffle prizes, and over a hundred of your closest neighbors...Celebrate Lake Spivey! This year was no different from the others,  as we celebrated the night away under the stars while benefiting 2 great causes, Clayton County CASA & The Haven House. The evening  started off with an overcast sky, providing a comfortable atmosphere with a cool breeze. As the evening progressed drinks were flowing,  brought to you by Lake Spivey Golf Club and dinner was served by Carrabba's Italian Grill - Mt. Zion. After dinner Hudson Road  Band provided tons of entertainment and dancing opportunities as well as welcoming up Lake Spivey Community Association's own Nicky  Ford  to rock the house with a few hit songs. To cap the night off, dozens of amazing raffle prizes were given away including items like a  Big Green Egg, vacation package, membership to Lake Spivey Golf Club, catering from Carrabba's and more! After all was said and done  we were proud to be able to support 2 local, well deserving organizations that desperately need the assistance. Stay tuned for  information on next years Celebrate Lake Spivey event, we look forward to seeing you there!

Based on feedback from residents and member associations, the goal of the new site is to be more accessible and user friendly.  The new site will:

  • improve communication between LSCI, member Associations and residents as it will seamless interface with our new email provider, Constant Contact
  • provide our community with a communications and marketing tool as the majority of the site will be available without a password
  • protect the propitiatory information of residents, as contact information will be available only with a password, and only to their specific HOA residents.
  • be easy to use and access regardless of computer skill

The Clayton County Commissioners and staff have recognized the need to establish a trail and greenway network to ease dependency on automobile travel and promote a happier, healthier lifestyle for their constituents.  They have voted to proceed with the use of the earmarked SPLOST monies already in place to retrofit the county with trails and connected greenspace in such a way that promotes non-vehicular travel to schools, businesses and neighborhoods while it also provides a recreational amenity for the entire county.   Neighborhoods connected by greenway trails thrive as homebuyers seek connectivity and active lifestyles, resulting in enhanced community cohesiveness, escalating property values and healthier constituencies.

The final routing for the three and a half mile Pathway Trail in the LSCI area was presented to the Board of Commissioners on March 17.  There was no opposition to the plan.  The Clayton County Greenspace Superintendent was authorized to proceed with property acquisition and easements.  Most of the trail is on county property or Georgia Power right of ways.  Lake Spivey Golf Club will donate about 1.25 miles of right of way and are strong supporters of the trail.  A few variances were necessary and have been satisfied.  Construction of the trail, starting at the Beach end should commence sometime in April.
